Chess Wizards is seeking enthusiastic, reliable instructors to join our after-school enrichment program in Clarkston, MI. You’ll lead fun chess classes for elementary students, using a structured curriculum and promoting good sportsmanship, while traveling to local school sites in the area.

This flexible side-hustle requires timely arrival, preparation, and a positive classroom environment. Competitive pay per class ($50-$65) with mileage reimbursement for trips over 15 miles, and full training

Qualifications

• Experience working with groups of children in educational, recreational, or mentoring settings.
• Ability to lead a class independently and create interactive, fun sessions.
• Professional, positive, kid-friendly demeanor.
• Genuine desire to be a positive role model and promote good sportsmanship.
• Strong grasp of chess fundamentals and ability to explain basics to kids.
• Reliable transportation and ability to drive between school locations.
• Availability on weekday afternoons (2:00 PM–5:00 PM) for 1–5 classes per week.
• Commitment to safety protocols for supervising children.
• Excellent punctuality and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students.
• Use our curriculum to teach fundamentals and promote sportsmanship.
• Manage a lively classroom with confidence and positivity.
• Encourage problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking.
• Follow school safety protocols during arrivals, dismissals, and in-class activities.
• Travel to various local school sites for each session.
• Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to engage students.
