Chess Wizards, Inc. is seeking enthusiastic, reliable instructors to join our after-school enrichment program in Powder Springs, GA.

You will teach chess to elementary students using a structured curriculum, creating a fun, positive classroom environment and inspiring good sportsmanship. The role offers flexible hours (1–5 classes per week, typically 2:00–5:00 PM), competitive pay per class ($50–$70), and mileage reimbursement for travel between local schools.

Qualifications

• Experience working with groups of children (teaching, tutoring, coaching, camp counseling, or similar).
• Ability to lead a class independently and create interactive, fun sessions.
• Professional, positive, kid-friendly demeanor.
• Strong grasp of chess fundamentals; explain piece movement, basic strategy in age-appropriate way.
• Ability to connect chess problem-solving to real-life problem-solving.
• Reliable transportation and ability to drive between locations.
• Availability on weekday afternoons (2:00 PM–5:00 PM) to teach 1–5 classes per week.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students.
• Teach chess fundamentals using our structured curriculum.
• Maintain a lively, positive classroom environment.
• Encourage problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking.
• Follow school safety protocols during arrival, dismissal, and activities.
• Travel to various local school sites for each session.
• Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to engage students.
