Job summary

Chess Wizards, Inc. in Rocklin, CA seeks enthusiastic instructors for after-school chess sessions with elementary students. You will lead 1–5 classes per week in a flexible schedule, using our curriculum and ensuring a fun, safe learning environment.

You’ll be paid $55–$75 per class, travel mileage reimbursed, and receive full training with ongoing support and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching groups of children in educational or recreational settings.
• Ability to lead a class independently with engaging and friendly sessions.
• Professional, positive, kid-friendly demeanor.
• Desire to be a positive role model and promote good sportsmanship.
• Strong understanding of chess fundamentals and age-appropriate explanations.
• Ability to connect chess problem-solving to real-life situations.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel between locations.
• Availability on weekday afternoons, 12pm–6pm, to teach 1–5 classes/week.
• Commitment to school safety and policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students.
• Teach chess fundamentals and promote good sportsmanship.
• Maintain a lively, positive classroom environment.
• Encourage problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking.
• Follow school safety protocols during arrival, dismissal, and activities.
• Travel to various local school sites for each session.
• Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to engage students.
