Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Possess good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and parents of students in the program.
• Possess knowledge of the physical, mental, and emotional development of young children.
• Certification in Red Cross first aid and CPR/AED.
• Have a positive attitude toward working with young children.

Responsibilities

• Arrive promptly and remain for the specified time.
• Supervise children constantly, never leaving them unattended.
• Assist children when necessary with hygiene needs.
• Assist children with assignments and activities.
• Assist the site supervisor with providing all daily services and reports.
• Coordinate planned activities as determined by the site supervisor.
• Refer serious discipline problems to the site supervisor.
• Attend all staff meetings and training sessions related to an afterschool program.
