Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Early Childhood or Elementary Education coursework or experience.
• Excellent communication skills (oral, written, interpersonal).

Responsibilities

• Assist after-school care staff and paraeducators in the implementation of the after-school care program.
• Organize children into groups for supervision and activities.
• Participate in after school care activities, and be actively involved with the children.
• Supervise children in after school care, ensuring a safe environment.
• Implement and follow the schedule of after school care activities.
• Track children signed into after school care.
• Ensure that all children who come to after school care are signed in.
• Ensure that children are released only to those that are authorized.
• Maintain careful records of the times that children are present and the caregiver they were released to.
• Builds strong relationships with students, parents, families, and colleagues.
• Engages in appropriate and beneficial teacher-child interactions.
• Communicates regularly and effectively.
• Collaborates with other after school care staff in a positive and beneficial way.
• Contributes to team-building exercises with staff.
