Job summary

Johnston County Public Schools in Garner, North Carolina seeks a Before/After Care Assistant for West View Elementary to support students after school from 4:15 PM to 6 PM. This is a temporary hourly position reporting to the Principal.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of effective methods of dealing with children.
• Ability to solve minor problems and follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Supervises students in the assigned location and in other locations (hallway, playground, etc.).
• Promotes student self-esteem; teaches citizenship, social skills, and respect for others.
• Reconciles minor student conflicts.
• Reports discipline problems to appropriate staff member.
• Reports significant change or lack of change in student behavior.
• Serves as team player and role model for other employees; supports and exhibits organization core values.
