Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring School-Age Childcare Staff for our After School Program at Akron Elementary School in Akron, NY for the 2026–2027 school year. Part-time, non-exempt, with an afternoon schedule following the school calendar, 2:15–6:00 pm.

Facilitate activities, provide a safe and engaging environment, and model positive behavior while adhering to state and school policies. Team-based work with growth opportunities and family communication.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, OR at least 1 year of experience working with children under the age of 13.
• Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
• Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
