Job summary

Classical Charter Schools of Whiteville is seeking an After School Care Assistant to supervise and nurture children from grades K-8 before school (7am–8am) and after school (3:30pm–6pm), including Camp Days.

You will provide snacks, supervise activities, support personal hygiene, and report daily to parents. The role emphasizes safety, patience, and supportive caregiving in a structured school setting in Whiteville, NC.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or 48 semester hours required (education/early childhood focus preferred).
• Ability to maintain a clean and orderly environment.
• Ability to perform clerical duties.
• Ability to operate common office machines.
• Ability to maintain basic files and records.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitates by work assignments.
• Physical ability to lift/carry 20 lbs and dexterity to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job.

Responsibilities

• Report behavior to parents each day.
• Supervise children while they are playing outside or on a playground.
• Provide homework assistance.
• Lock the building at the end of the day.

Classical Charter Schools of Whiteville has an immediate opening for a Before and After School Care Assistant.

The Roger Bacon Academy is an education management organization that manages multiple charter schools in southeastern North Carolina including Classical Charter Schools of Whiteville, located in Whiteville that serves students in grades K - 8. Before and After School Care Assistant – Job responsibilities

Purpose:

Responsible for supervising, nurturing, and caring for children from grades K-8th before school from 7am-8am and afterschool from 3:30pm-6pm and during Camp Days.

• Maintain Daycare Facilities: No matter the age of the children being cared for, it’s essential that their environment is safe, clean, and comfortable. The After School Care Assistant needs to help clean and organize the facility end of each day.
• Prepare and Clean up Meals: help prepare meals and snacks, supervise the children while they eat, and clean up after mealtime.
• Promote personal Hygiene: help the children under their care stay clean and teach them the importance of personal hygiene habits.
