Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks a Second Shift at Madison CTE Instructor to provide vocational instruction aligned to state frameworks in an after-school program. The role emphasizes safe learning environments and equity in outcomes across multiple building trades. Applicants should have a high school diploma, five years of relevant trade experience, and an active industry credential.

OSHA-10 is preferred, with willingness to earn it, and U.S. work authorization required on day one.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Five years of full-time employment experience directly related to the building trades.
• Occupational License/ Industry Certification is required.
• Current authorization to work in the United States by the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide a vocational technical course aligned to state curriculum frameworks and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Align with vocational technical skills and content in the school curriculum map to achieve equitable student outcomes.
• Teach after-school sessions for the 2nd Shift at Madison Park (38 x 3.5 hour sessions, 133 hours) plus 10 hours prep.
• Submit syllabus, monitor progress, and maintain attendance and records.
• Collaborate with Site Director on student attendance and engagement and evaluate readiness for Industry Recognized Credential assessments.
