Job summary

Kids in the Game is seeking a part-time Behavioral Intervention Specialist to provide on-site behavioral support for 800+ children ages 4–13 in after-school programs across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx. The role runs September 2026–June 2027, 2:30–6:00 PM, 3–5 days per week, with emphasis on social-emotional development and support.

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s in Social Work or related field, 2+ years of PBIS experience, and the ability to collaborate with school-site teams

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or have recently completed a Master’s in Social Work, Counseling, or Clinical Psychology.
• 2+ years of experience working in a behavioral/intervention specialist setting with children and adults.
• Advanced knowledge of PBIS, effective communication, and conflict resolution.
• Ability to travel between sites in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx.
• Flexibility to work 3–5 days per week, 2:30–6:00 PM after school hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site direct support for behavioral issues, including 1:1 student meetings and group observations.
• Develop and implement behavior support tools and plans for students.
• Observe and interact with students to ensure needs are met and challenge themselves.
• Collaborate with Site Directors and Program Management to address concerns.
• Assist with parent communications and meetings regarding students’ needs.
• Maintain documentation and incident reports.
