Job summary

Kids in the Game is hiring a part-time Behavioral Intervention Specialist to support 800+ children ages 4-13 in our after-school programs across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx.

The role emphasizes on-site behavioral support, 1:1 meetings, group observations, and PBIS training for staff. You’ll collaborate with Site Directors, manage communications with families, and uphold safety and documentation standards.

Qualifications

• Master’s in Social Work, Counseling, or Clinical Psychology or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in behavioral/intervention settings with children/adults.
• Advanced knowledge of PBIS, communication, and conflict resolution.
• Available 3–5 days per week, 2:30–6:00 PM.
• Willingness to travel between sites (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx).
• Must pass background checks and fingerprinting; TB test preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site behavioral support and 1:1 student meetings.
• Conduct group observations and support for students’ coping strategies.
• Deliver staff training on PBIS, mental health practices, and stress management.
• Collaborate with Site Directors and Program Management for student needs.
• Prepare parent communications and participate in team problem-solving.
• Maintain incident reports and documentation per policy.
