Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years experience working with elementary-aged children.
• Ability to complete Level II Background Screening.
• DCF 40-Hour Intro Training if required.

Responsibilities

• Assist certified teachers with daily instruction and small-group activities.
• Prepare lesson materials, bulletin boards, demonstrations, and supplies.
• Provide homework and academic support during designated learning periods.
• Lead physical fitness and recreational activities promoting health and teamwork.
• Reinforce SEL strategies embedded in daily programming.
• Maintain direct supervision to ensure a safe, structured environment.
• Communicate professionally with parents, guardians, and school staff.
• Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and PD sessions.
