Job summary

Big Ideas Educational Services is seeking a dedicated Teacher Assistant / Activity Leader to support daily programming in our after-school program in Miami. You will assist certified teachers, supervise students, and help prepare instructional materials while creating a safe, engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities include leading physical activities, SEL experiences, homework help, snack distribution, and site operations.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
1–2 years of experience with elementary-aged children in educational, childcare, recreation, or youth development setting.
Ability to complete Level II Background Screening.
DCF 40-Hour Introductory Child Care Training if required.

Responsibilities

Assist certified teachers with daily instruction, classroom management, and small-group learning activities.
Prepare lesson materials, resources, bulletin boards, demonstrations, and supplies.
Provide homework and academic support during designated learning periods.
Lead physical fitness and recreational activities and reinforce SEL throughout programming.
Maintain direct supervision to ensure a safe and structured environment.
Assist with indoor and outdoor activities, snacks, setup/breakdown, and transitions.
Collaborate with leadership and staff to ensure positive student experiences.
Communicate professionally with parents, guardians, and school staff.
