Job summary

Orenda Charter School is seeking a substitute after-school crew member to supervise and engage a group of students through homework help, enrichment activities, crafts, and physical recreation in a safe, structured environment. You will act as encourager, mentor, and role model daily, adapting to activities and student needs with a positive attitude.

Ideal candidates are at least 17 or hold a high school diploma, with First Aid/CPR and CPI certifications, and a readiness to participate in

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years old and a senior in high school, or must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• First Aid and CPR Certification
• CPI Certified (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
• Child Abuse Awareness and Bullying Awareness Training
• Other designated staff training as required

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in activities for small and large groups of students
• Supervise children in a safe, positive and responsible manner
• Maintain accountability and supervision of assigned students at all times
• Assist with homework help, arts and crafts, games, enrichment activities, and outdoor play
• Support group leaders with start-of-day and end-of-day duties
• Communicate with parents regarding student progress and participation
• Attend weekly staff meetings and participate in lesson and activity planning
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment
