Job summary

Kentwood Public Schools in Grand Rapids, MI seeks an ARCH - Activity Leader to support after-school programming for elementary through high school students. This role emphasizes engaging activities and serving as a positive, energetic role model.

Responsibilities include planning and delivering daily activities, enforcing safety and school policies, assisting with homework, and communicating professionally with the site coordinator and families to promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED plus 1 year of experience working with children in education, recreation, or similar program.
• CPR, First Aid and AED certification within three months of employment.
• Willing to complete at least 16 hours of annual training in addition to CPR/First Aid and Bloodborne Pathogen training.

Responsibilities

• Assists in daily program activity planning, preparation and implementation.
• Enforces all rules, regulations, policies, and procedures per district guidelines.
• Leads daily activities including academic enrichment, health and wellness, games, crafts, music, and recreation.
• Assists with homework and tutoring in reading, writing, math, and other areas.
• Maintains participant welfare and safety during activities.
• Works to ensure inclusion of all participants and manages behavior as needed.
• Communicates professionally with site coordinator and parents.
