Job summary

El Programa Hispano Católico (EPHC) is seeking an Activity Leader to support the after-school Extended Day Program at Floyd Light Middle School. You will teach and facilitate after-school classes and activities, fostering student growth and engagement in a bilingual, bicultural community.

The role involves planning daily activities, mentoring students, assisting with snacks, and helping at SUN events. Must be available Mon-Thu 2:45–4:45 pm on-site; non-benefitted position with competitive hourly

Qualifications

Experience working with youth and/or children.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Bilingual in Spanish, Russian, Somali, Burmese or Vietnamese preferred.
Ability to work well with a diverse group and follow directions.
Ability to communicate clearly with staff, families, and students.
Public speaking experience.
Organize work, take initiative, follow through, and pay attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Facilitate enrichment activities and classes (cooking, art, academics).
Develop and maintain relationships with students.
Develop a comprehensive plan for daily activities with specific tasks and objectives.
Provide student mentorship and assist with behavior management.
Assist with distribution of after-school snacks.
Help set up and clean the classroom.
Assist at SUN events (Back to School Night, SUN Family Night).
Other duties as assigned by the SUN Site Manager.
