Job summary

City of Santa Fe Springs is seeking an energetic assistant for an afterschool program at Ocean City Elementary School. The role supports the coordinator, leads activities for Kindergarten through 4th grade, and helps with safety and snack service.

Applicants must be at least 16, hold CPR/First Aid certification, a valid driver's license, and be able to pass a background check. You will interact with parents and ensure safe, engaging activities daily.

Qualifications

• High school students at least 16 years old are eligible to apply.
• Current CPR and Basic First Aid Certification. Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to read and communicate basic information to supervisor and students. Ability to write basic information.

Responsibilities

• Assist Coordinator in daily operations of an afterschool program for elementary-aged children.
• Instruct recreational activities for Kindergarten to 4th grade.
• Set up and break down equipment for daily activities.
• Inspect playing areas and equipment for safety and inventory equipment.
• Prepare and serve healthy snacks daily.
• Enforce rules and procedures and communicate with parents.
• Administer basic first aid and follow safety procedures.
