Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Louisiana Teaching Certification required.
• At least 1 year of teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to participants in school-based after-school and summer programs.
• Promote activities and experiences that develop academic, physical, mental, and emotional growth.
• Develop lesson plans utilizing the recommended curriculum and State standards.
• Develop and execute one-character education lesson site-wide.
• Collaborate effectively with paraprofessionals.
• Maintain discipline through positive behavior management techniques.
• Develop motivational strategies and effective learning methods for children.
• Attend all staff meetings.
• Communicate regularly with parents of participants.
• Communicate regularly with children’s teachers.
• Attend workshops and in-service programs offered by the organization and LA Department of Education.
• Work on special projects as assigned.
