Job summary

Wellstar Medical Group seeks an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Pediatrics After Hours team. You will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to pediatrics during evenings, weekends, and holidays, collaborating with pediatricians and staff to ensure timely access to care and an exceptional patient/family experience.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Current Georgia APRN licensure or eligibility.
• National certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP), Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), or other applicable certification.
• Current DEA registration or eligibility.
• Current BLS and PALS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat pediatric patients presenting with acute illnesses, minor injuries, and urgent medical concerns.
• Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations.
• Order, interpret, and manage appropriate diagnostic testing and imaging.
• Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians as appropriate.
• Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state regulations and organizational policies.
• Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans, medications, follow-up care, and preventive health measures.
• Identify patients requiring escalation of care and coordinate referrals to emergency departments, specialists, or hospital services when appropriate.
• Document encounters accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards.
• Support a positive patient experience through compassionate, family-centered care.
