Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking a Nurse III - House Supervisor for Terrell State Hospital. The role oversees after-hours nursing operations, ensures quality patient care, and leads nursing staff in accordance with regulatory standards.

The position requires an RN licensed in Texas, with at least three years of relevant experience, and flexibility for varied shifts including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in Texas (TX) required.
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience in a healthcare setting.
• Experience in hospital-based nursing operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate after-hours nursing services and patient care across units.
• Lead and mentor nursing staff; develop staffing plans and reassign staff as needed.
• Administer medications, treatments, assessments and patient monitoring.
• Act as on-site clinical and administrative lead after hours; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Communicate with leadership about unusual incidents and events; participate in disaster planning.
• Perform duties as assigned and support Continuity of Operations (COOP) activities.
