Job summary

Colorado Academy is seeking an enthusiastic After Care Assistant for our after-school program serving Kindergarten through 5th grade students in Denver. This on-site role runs Monday through Friday from approximately 3:00 p.m.

to 5:00 p.m., with compensation ranging from $17 to $20 per hour based on experience. Responsibilities include supervising students, planning engaging activities, promoting safety and inclusivity, and communicating with families and staff.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with elementary-aged children is preferred.
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, patient, and dependable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Comfortable leading both indoor and outdoor activities.
  • CPR/First Aid certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and actively engage with students in Kindergarten through 5th grade during the after-school program.
  • Plan and lead age-appropriate games, crafts, STEM activities, outdoor play, and other enrichment opportunities.
  • Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where every child feels supported.
  • Encourage positive behavior and model kindness, respect, and responsibility.
  • Build positive relationships with students while promoting teamwork and social development.
  • Assist with daily routines, including attendance, snack time, transitions, and dismissal.
  • Set up and clean up activity spaces and materials.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and fellow staff members.
  • Follow all school policies and safety procedures.

Salary Range: $17.00 - $20.00 Hourly

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dependable, and caring After Care Assistant to join our after‑school program for students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, creating a positive environment, and leading engaging activities that make the end of the school day fun and meaningful.

Schedule: Monday‑Friday, mid‑August through the end of May. Hours: Approximately 3:00 p.m. - 5:00/5:30 p.m.

Compensation: $17-$20 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
