The Archdiocese of St. Louis is seeking an Aftercare Aide to support our school’s aftercare program at St. Louis Catholic Academy. You will supervise students, assist with homework, and help plan engaging activities in a safe, faith-filled environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with children in school, childcare, camp, or recreational setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to supervise and engage groups of school-aged children.
• Ability to maintain a safe and positive environment.
• Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during aftercare hours and ensure their safety and well-being at all times.
• Monitor student behavior and foster a positive, respectful environment.
• Assist students with homework and educational activities as needed.
• Plan and facilitate age-appropriate recreational, enrichment, and social activities.
• Maintain attendance records and oversee student sign-in/sign-out procedures.
• Verify authorized pick-up arrangements and communicate with parents and guardians as necessary.
• Assist with snack distribution and ensure proper cleanup of program areas.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming aftercare environment.
• Address minor behavioral concerns and report significant issues to the Aftercare Director or administration.
• Follow school safety procedures and emergency protocols.
• Support and model Catholic values and Christian behavior in all interactions.

Job Summary
