Job summary

VTG Defense seeks an experienced AFSIM Developer to deliver Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis support for DoD programs. You will design, develop, integrate, and sustain AFSIM-based capabilities, applying secure software lifecycle practices and DoD 8140/8570 requirements.

You will build C++ based AFSIM plug-ins and interfaces, apply scripting to configure scenarios, and collaborate with government engineers to translate requirements into verified simulation capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 2+ years of software development experience.
• Experience designing, developing, integrating or applying AFSIM in DoD/IC programs.
• Experience with secure coding practices and software assurance across the lifecycle.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance; active Secret or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate AFSIM models, components, and scenarios for government analysis.
• Implement secure software lifecycle practices per DoD cybersecurity policies.
• Develop and maintain C++-based AFSIM plug-ins and interfaces to external tools.
• Apply scripting (Python/Lua) to configure scenarios and batch runs.
• Conduct code reviews, static analysis, and remediation for secure coding.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and test automation.
• Collaborate with government engineers to translate requirements into verified simulations.
• Prepare technical documentation and briefing materials per contract deliverables.
• Support proposals, estimates, and design reviews for MS&A task orders.
