Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory is seeking an experienced AFSIM Developer to support advanced modeling and simulation for U.S. Space Force initiatives. This role involves developing high-fidelity simulations and collaborating with experts to refine models of space systems and capabilities.

The ideal candidate has a background in Computer Science or related fields with proficiency in C++ and experience with AFSIM. The position is located in Laurel, Maryland, and offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience with AFSIM (scenario/plugin development).
  • Experience in aerospace, space, or multi-domain mission contexts.
  • Ability to obtain Interim Secret level security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop AFSIM plugins, models, and scenarios.
  • Extend AFSIM's framework using modular C++ architecture.
  • Perform verification and validation of models against reference data.
