Job summary

The Ohio Attorney General's Office is seeking an AFIS Operator to support the Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Columbus, OH. The role performs fingerprint processing, data entry, and demographic data handling for civilian and criminal records.

Candidates will enter information, prepare documents, and assist with background checks while working with a dedicated team in a full-time schedule. The position offers competitive benefits and on-site work in Franklin County.

Qualifications

• 12 months experience or 12 months training in use of AFIS or CCH equipment or equivalent
• Typing skill of 45 words per minute
• Formal arithmetic and writing/speaking common English vocabulary

Responsibilities

• Processes AFIS information using CAFIS and enters data into AFIS
• Opens mail and prepares fingerprint cards for scanning and filing
• Enters demographic information from fingerprint cards and for background checks
• Generates documents and applicant letters for mailing
• Researches and verifies arrest information and dispositions
• Trains other AFIS operators on procedures and systems
