Job summary

Shinda Management Corporation is seeking a Property Manager to oversee affordable housing properties in New York City, handling the full spectrum of physical, administrative, and financial duties.

You will ensure audit readiness, maintain resident records, supervise maintenance and office staff, and coordinate move-ins/outs while ensuring compliance with Tax Credit and Section 8 standards. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of property management experience.
• Knowledge of Section 8, LIHTC, and related affordable housing programs.
• Understanding of NYC local laws (11-87, 84, etc).
• Familiarity with agencies: HUD: Section 8, REAC, MOR; HDC; LIHTC, HFA; HCR; HPD.
• Experience with SitCompli and Yardi.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure property is audit ready (MOR & REAC).
• Maintain accurate resident records (rents, deposits, fees).
• Manage Maintenance and Office Team.
• Oversee move-in/move-out process.
• Show vacant units to prospective residents.
• Conduct annual/internal audits for Tax Credit and Section 8 compliance; weekly inspections.
• Ensure timely certifications and re-certifications.
• Develop and maintain a tenant orientation program.
• Establish partnerships with agencies and government programs.
• Prepare reports for regulatory bodies.
