Job summary

The John Stewart Company is a full-service housing management, development and consulting organization serving the affordable housing sector since 1978. We seek a Property Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of TCAC properties, enforce policies, and ensure regulatory compliance.

You will lead staff, maintain resident files, handle leasing documentation, and ensure timely unit turnover while upholding high standards of service and compliance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of management and staff training experience with Tax Credit properties.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Strong English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent application of property rules and lease documents and report all violations.
• Maintain accurate resident files at move-in and at each recertification within regulatory guidelines.
• Conduct recruiting, hiring and termination processes and train/evaluate staff.
• Ensure program compliance (HUD, TCAC, Home Program, RHCP, CAL HFA, AHP, etc.).
• Obtain documentation, complete certifications and collect deposits and rents per policies.
• Respond promptly to resident requests or complaints in a courteous manner.
• Complete work orders and turnover of vacant units promptly.
