Job summary

Citi is seeking a Real Estate Loan Closer in Los Angeles to manage complex loan closings in the affordable housing sector, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant execution throughout the loan lifecycle.

The role requires deep knowledge of LIHTC and tax credit programs, strong collaboration with underwriting, legal, and operations, and meticulous attention to documentation and deadlines.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of relevant experience in loan closing or transaction management within financial services, with a preference for affordable housing finance.
• Strong knowledge of Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), tax-exempt bonds, and subsidy programs.
• Solid understanding of real estate legal documentation, title and survey review, and closing mechanics.
• Experience with loan management software such as Loan IQ or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage a pipeline of affordable housing closings from commitment through funding, including construction and permanent loans and bond financings.
• Coordinate extensively with internal and external stakeholders (underwriting, legal, portfolio management, credit risk, operations; counsel, developers, syndicators, investors, government agencies).
• Review and analyze complex legal documents to ensure closing conditions are met; ensure LIHTC compliance in closing.
• Oversee pre-closing conditions, deadlines, and document collection/review; review closing statements and wire instructions.
• Maintain deal closing pipeline and ensure accurate, compliant lifecycle management.
