Job summary

Conifer Realty is hiring a Leasing Specialist to connect people with affordable homes in Plainfield, NJ. You’ll drive occupancy, conduct tours, and ensure compliance with LIHTC/HUD programs while delivering exceptional customer service.

The role requires experience in apartment leasing, familiarity with LIHTC/HUD programs, and proficiency in Yardi or similar software, with bilingual Spanish/English a plus. Some weekend work and ongoing training are included.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of apartment leasing experience preferred.
• 1 year experience with affordable housing programs (LIHTC, HUD-Section 8, HOME, RD) required.
• familiarity with Fair Housing and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in property management software (Yardi).

Responsibilities

• Greet prospective residents and conduct tours to highlight community features.
• Market available units and manage leasing applications and renewals.
• Process applications and recertifications under LIHTC/HUD or other programs.
• Assist residents with rent collection, service requests, and communications.
• Collaborate with maintenance and office staff to maintain property appearance and safety.
• Manage reports and data entry to keep operations organized.
