Job summary

Chinatown Community Development Center in San Francisco seeks a Compliance Specialist to ensure regulatory and affordable housing requirements are met for each property. The role leads on-site reviews, assists with lease-ups, and trains property staff, while thriving in a fast-paced team environment.

The position reports to the Associate Director of Compliance and requires knowledge of local, state, and federal housing regulations.

Qualifications

  • Excellent organizational, administrative, financial, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and/or Property Management Software.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate on-going file reviews and inspect files for accuracy and compliance with income limits and program requirements.
  • Keep current on regulatory updates (TCAC, HUD, MOHCD, HCD, etc.) and share with staff on-site and in the main office.
  • Provide periodic one-on-one and group trainings to property management staff.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with supervision and portfolio staff regarding compliance issues.
  • Update forms/documents in the property management portal and adjust resident criteria as needed.
  • Prepare reports and correspondence for funders, investors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Coordinate lease-ups and participate in marketing at properties as required.
  • Ensure first-year tenant files are compliant and respond to site inspections and audits.
  • Provide portfolio-wide reporting on compliance status and assist with corrective action plans.
