Job summary

gobravvo seeks a Compliance Specialist to ensure adherence to state and federal regulations for affordable housing programs. This full-time role supports the integrity and legal standing of managed properties through detailed review, documentation, and reporting.

You will work with site staff and property managers to uphold LIHTC, HOME, and Section 8 guidelines, guide resident eligibility, calculate incomes, verify assets, and submit compliant reports to agencies and investors.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in compliance, affordable housing, or property management is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of affordable housing programs such as LIHTC, HOME, and Section 8.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in compliance and reporting software systems.
• Ability to interpret and apply complex regulations and program guidelines.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with site teams and agencies.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain professional integrity.

Responsibilities

• Assist with resident eligibility determinations for affordable housing programs (e.g., LIHTC, HOME, Section 8).
• Advise property managers on documentation requirements and ensure timely submission of resident certification files.
• Utilize auditing platforms to manage and verify certification files, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
• Provide guidance on income calculations, asset verification, and allowable deductions.
• Review and process unit transfer requests, ensuring compliance with program rules and educating site teams on procedures and risks.
• Upload and cross-reference tenant certification data, unit information, and occupancy details in compliance and reporting systems.
• Verify that income limits, rent limits, unit designations, and household data are accurate and aligned with program and site records.
• Reconcile discrepancies between site reports and system data, collaborating with property teams to correct errors before official submissions.
• Submit monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance reports to housing agencies, investors, and syndicators as required.
• Conduct regular internal audits of resident files to ensure compliance with program guidelines.
• Identify compliance issues or discrepancies and work proactively with site teams to resolve them promptly.
