Job description

Position Summary: The Department of Engineering and Engineering Technology at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions in Environmental Engineering.

Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned classes in person or online, delivering course content to students.
  • Prepare course materials, lesson plans, and assessments.
  • Grading student work and providing timely feedback.
  • Address student questions and provide academic support as needed.
  • Deliver instruction consistent with the content and learning objectives of the regular course syllabus.
  • Comply with university-wide student evaluation and peer observation policies.
  • Adapt to new modes of instruction and be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse student population.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of four years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of four years of relevant experience or higher degrees (e.g., Doctorate).
  • Professional Engineering License.
Terms of Employment

Affiliate faculty are part‑time, at‑will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, usually on a semester‑by‑semester basis. They are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University’s benefit program. All teaching assignments are dependent on budget and enrollment, and qualified candidates are expected to teach in person/on campus upon hire.

Salary

Pay per credit hour assignment ranges from $1,264 to $1,482, as determined by university policy.
