Job summary

Adams 12 Five Star Schools in Thornton, CO is seeking an Elementary Affective Needs Teacher to deliver academic and social-emotional instruction in center-based K-5 programs.

The role requires advocacy, collaboration and compliance with IDEA/EC standards, while developing SMART goals and coordinating with specialists. A Bachelor’s degree is required and CO licensure must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required for assignment.
• Must obtain/possess a Colorado Educator License within 30 days of hire.
• Preference for ELL Training or ESL/LD Education endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for students to ensure access to learning opportunities and equity.
• Assess eligibility and monitor progress with SMART goals.
• Collaborate with teachers, psychologists, SLPs, social workers and families.
• Implement IDEA and ECEA regulations and IEPs across settings.
• Plan differentiated instruction and continually monitor student progress.
