Job summary

Gauss Management Research & Engineering (GMRE Inc.) is seeking a Manufacturing Manager to lead aerospace and defense wire harness, cable assembly, and related electromechanical manufacturing. The role translates released engineering requirements into controlled, repeatable shop-floor processes while ensuring tooling, materials, staffing, and schedules supporting safe and efficient production.

You will serve as the primary subject matter expert for harness-building methods, parts and tooling

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
Eight+ years in aerospace/defense manufacturing environments.
Five+ years leading manufacturing teams or front-line supervisors.

Responsibilities

Serve as the technical authority for wire harness and cable assembly processes.
Review engineering drawings, BOMs, wire lists, schematics for manufacturability.
Resolve production questions with Engineering to improve manufacturability.
Mentor technicians and troubleshoot crimping, soldering, and testing.
Specify and implement tooling, fixtures, and test equipment.
Ensure tooling is identified, qualified, and maintained for production.
Develop and maintain manufacturing processes, instructions, and labor standards.
Lead readiness, prototypes, and transition to repeatable production.
Direct daily operations through the Production Manager and manage staffing.
Coordinate with PM, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Planning.
Monitor metrics: on-time delivery, yield, efficiency, and safety.
Lead root-cause analyses and corrective actions for defects and scrap.
Support audits and ensure compliance with AS9100, IPC/WHMA-A-620, and DoD specs.
Drive Lean and continuous-improvement initiatives.
