Job summary

Salient Motion, Inc. is seeking an experienced engineer to own electrical interconnect design across our actuation product lines.

You will focus on production aerospace power electronics and actuation systems, performing harness design from schematic through manufacturing release and collaborating with multiple engineering teams. You will work hands-on in a fast-moving environment, interfacing with seat OEM customers during ITCM and with DERs during qualification and certification, while driving

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or related field.
• Equivalent professional experience considered in lieu of degree.
• Minimum 3 years of aerospace wire harness design experience.
• Experience authoring functional test procedures and supporting qualification testing.
• U.S. Person status per ITAR/EAR.

Responsibilities

• Perform wire harness design for aerospace actuation systems from schematic to manufacturing release.
• Develop and maintain harness documentation: schematics, wire lists, drawings, BOMs.
• Author functional test procedures for harness assemblies and integrated systems.
• Support qualification testing including DO-160, MIL-STD-461 EMI/EMC, and program-specific plans.
• Oversee initial build, first article inspection (AS9102), and production readiness with suppliers.
• Own supplier technical qualification and ongoing supplier engineering support for harnesses.
• Collaborate with DERs during qualification and certification activities.
• Partner with motor control, firmware, and mechanical teams to integrate harness design.
• Drive design for manufacturability, cost, and reliability across harness portfolio.
• Travel up to 35% domestically/internationally.
