Job summary

Blue Origin in the Seattle area is seeking an experienced welder to join our Operations team. You will weld aluminum and steel parts to aerospace specifications, set up and operate friction stir welds, and support production for spaceflight hardware.

The role emphasizes safety, precision, and collaborative problem solving. The position requires 3+ years of DC/AC TIG welding experience, ability to read drawings, and strong documentation skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience with DC- and AC-TIG welding of aerospace stainless steels and aluminum alloys.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; maintain records.
• Ability to use precision hand tools and fabrication shop equipment.
• Ability to develop fixtures/tools and familiarity with PC use.
• Must be able to work 1st shift Mon–Thu 5am–3:30pm with possible weekend overtime.
• Must be U.S. citizen or lawful resident for compliance purposes.

Responsibilities

• Welds aluminum and steel parts to engineering specs using GTAW.
• Sets up and operates machines to create friction stir welds for launch vehicles.
• Monitors weld quality and documents results per procedures.
• Supports production and development activities affecting rocket hardware.
• Maintains detailed records and adheres to safety and quality standards.
