Job summary

Software Placement Group, SPG, in Windsor Locks, CT, seeks an experienced Weld Engineer to restart legacy heat exchanger production and lead welding, brazing, and process development on the shop floor. You will work closely with Manufacturing Engineering and operations to create and update work instructions, specifications, and tooling, ensuring quality and productivity gains.

The role requires strong GD&T skills, aerospace experience, and proficiency with Excel.

Qualifications

5–8 years of relevant engineering/manufacturing experience.
Experience with welding and brazing, especially aluminum and steel.
Strong GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and MS Office.

Responsibilities

Support the restart and manufacturing of legacy heat exchanger products.
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and shop-floor to improve processes.
Create, modify, and maintain work instructions, operation sheets, and assembly documentation.
Develop and update welding process specifications and related drawings.
Investigate welding-related production issues and implement corrective actions.
Support product quality and process improvement initiatives.
Manage multiple engineering projects and track actions to completion.
Communicate technical information with cross-functional teams.
