Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. in Ogden, UT is seeking a Visual Dimensional Inspector for swing shift to ensure parts meet customer specifications and minimize rework.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to read English, and experience with precision measurement tools; you’ll work across departments, document findings, and support quality assurance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1-3 years of visual and dimensional inspection experience in manufacturing, aerospace preferred.
• Able to read and comprehend English.
• Able to lift up to 25 lbs regularly.
• Able to communicate effectively with co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Identifies surface defects in parts by reviewing tech cards, techniques, and routers.
• Visually inspects parts at multiple points in the process for defects.
• Uses a variety of hand tools to assist in visual inspection.
• Assures dimensional integrity by inspecting castings for conformance to blueprint, technique, and tech card specifications using templates, micrometers, height gauges, calipers, fixtures, and other dimensional measuring devices.
• Marks castings to identify areas needing rework to meet dimensional specifications.
• Works with engineering to establish inspection techniques and resolve non-conformance issues.
• Enters weld mapping and dimensional data into computer systems for SPC charting.
• Prepares reports on quality issues as needed.
