Job summary

Ontic is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Chatsworth, CA team. The role focuses on planning, coordinating, and guiding the PMO function while providing technical support to the team and external partners.

Responsibilities include reviewing new product designs, creating manufacturing plans with BOM, and leading process improvements to control costs and quality. Collaboration with departments, suppliers, and customers is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Minimum 7 years in aerospace electronic product design, manufacturing, planning, testing and fabrication.
• Ability to provide technical support to customers, suppliers, and in-house technicians.
• Effective communication and ability to write clear, concise technical reports.
• Project management skills highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical reviews of new product designs.
• Develop manufacturing planning for products, including BOM; improve/modify existing planning as needed.
• Modify design of current products to mitigate obsolescence issues, including modification of embedded firmware as needed.
• Design assembly/test tooling and shop aids, as needed.
• Develop/modify technical manuals, issue Service Letters and Service Bulletins, as needed.
• Assist in identifying and evaluating suppliers for new or critical processes.
• Assist purchasing in resolving supplier’s technical problems, drawing and specification interpretation.
• Oversee production processes with Quality, as required.
• Initiate and participate in the controlled document change process (ECR, ECN).
• Manage multiple activities and workload to avoid bottlenecks daily.
