Job summary

HDI Landing Gear in Springfield, OH is seeking a Tool Crib Technician to build and pre-set tools and deliver them to machinists and grinders on the shop floor. You will coordinate with operations, engineering and leadership to ensure high-quality landing gear components are produced efficiently.

The role requires assembling and presetting advanced tooling (CAPTO C8, HSK125, CAT50), interpreting prints, and maintaining rigorous documentation per AS9100/NADCAP.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience in a tool crib or related manufacturing role.
• Strong mechanical skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assemble tools (CAPTO C8, HSK125, CAT50) using setup instructions (PowerPoint, Excel, GD&T).
• Preset tools (Zoller Presetting Tech, Haimer Power Clamp) and set gauging (dial bores, snap gauges, bottle bores).
• Interpret tooling prints, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Confirm tolerance measurements with calipers and micrometers.
• Daily use of general hand tools in tool assembly.
• Set up and run surface grinders, Bridgeport mill, and pedestal grinder.
• Troubleshoot tooling issues on the shop floor.
• Adhere to schedules set by leadership to ensure tool delivery to the shop floor.
• Maintain tool crib cleanliness and organization.
• Document according to AS9100 and NADCAP protocols.
