Job summary

Allfast Fastening Systems LLC is seeking a Tooling Supervisor to oversee daily tooling department activities at the City of Industry, CA site. You will manage tooling design, manufacture, maintenance and inventory control for aerospace fastener production, leading a team to meet quality, safety, and productivity standards.

You will coordinate with Engineering and Manufacturing to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and drive continuous improvement while mentoring staff and ensuring compliance

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology, Tool & Die, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
• Experience with tooling in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise daily activities of Tooling Technicians, Toolmakers, and Tooling Apprentices.
• Plan, prioritize, and assign tooling work to support production schedules and customer requirements.
• Oversee the fabrication, modification, repair, and maintenance of tooling, fixtures, gauges, dies, punches, and related equipment.
• Support production operations by troubleshooting tooling-related issues and implementing corrective actions.
• Review engineering drawings, blueprints, work orders, and specifications to determine tooling requirements.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering and Production teams to develop tooling solutions for new and existing products.
• Ensure all tooling is maintained in proper operating condition and available to meet production demands.
• Establish and maintain tooling preventive maintenance programs.
• Monitor tooling performance and identify opportunities to improve tool life, quality, and productivity.
• Maintain tooling inventory and recommend replacement or procurement of tooling components as needed.
• Ensure compliance with company quality requirements, safety regulations, and aerospace industry standards.
• Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities.
• Develop and maintain tooling documentation, setup instructions, and department records.
• Train, mentor, and develop tooling department personnel.
• Conduct performance discussions and provide ongoing coaching regarding job expectations, safety, quality, and productivity.
• Support cost-reduction projects and lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
