Job summary

GKN Aerospace in California is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer – Tooling to provide engineering capability for tool design and process development on aerospace programs.

You will deliver robust tooling solutions from concept to production, apply Lean methods, and ensure safety and quality standards. The role requires strong problem solving and collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or 5+ years of tool design experience as alternative.
• 3+ years of tool design experience in a manufacturing environment, aerospace preferred.
• 1+ year of design experience using NX, Catia or SolidWorks CAD/CAM.
• Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder due to program security clearance requirements and/or SSA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Quote tool fabrication needs and provide tooling input for new product quotes.
• Coordinate tooling changes with cost estimation and schedules.
• Develop technical solutions for complex tooling problems for internal and external customers.
• Support manufacturing process development and integration in production.
• Apply root cause analysis and corrective actions to reduce non-conformances.
• Improve production processes through Lean initiatives.
