Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design production tooling, fixtures, and processing aids for aerospace manufacturing in Santa Ana, CA. The role covers tooling design across machining, assembly, test and inspection, with heavy emphasis on 3D CAD and GD&T.

You will lead tooling validation, support test equipment development, and drive root cause investigations while ensuring design integrity and documentation are maintained.

Qualifications

• Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks, CATIA, or NX).
• Familiar with GD&T per ASME Y14.5 and MBD workflows.
• Excellent cross-functional communication with manufacturing, quality, and production.

Responsibilities

• Design tooling, fixtures, and processing aids for aerospace manufacturing.
• Create detailed tooling designs using 3D CAD, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
• Validate tooling and design intent through engineering analysis and shop floor reviews.
• Support design/modification of test equipment including hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Lead root cause investigations using 8D, RCCA, DMAIC and manage configuration control.
