Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, a leading aerospace engine company, is seeking a Tooling Design Engineer to support the manufacturing maturation of Ceramic Matrix Composite (CMC) turbine components. You will design tooling and fixtures to enhance manufacturing and assembly, applying your engineering knowledge to ensure performance and quality across projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
2+ years engineering experience, or an advanced degree with no experience.
Proficiency with CAD tools such as NX, CATIA, Creo, or SolidWorks.
Working knowledge of GD&T principles and ability to apply tolerancing.
Demonstrated experience with manufacturing processes and assembly techniques.
U.S. citizenship is required for access to this program/contract.

Responsibilities

Design tooling for processes used to manufacture CMC components.
Establish and follow best design practices for materials, dimensions, tolerances, and tooling for prototyping, low and high volume production.
Work with manufacturing and engineering teams to design solutions supporting process development.
Support data collection and analysis related to tooling.
Establish metrics for tooling effectiveness, cost and durability; monitor outcomes for improvements.
Identify, investigate and implement new technology to meet business goals.
