Job summary

Belcan is seeking a Welding Specialist / Weld Engineer to lead the development and control of weld repair and fabrication processes for aerospace superalloy castings. The role focuses on ensuring Class A quality, aligning with customer specifications and industry standards, while providing hands-on TIG welding expertise and training for welders.

You will drive process improvements, support accreditation, and work cross-functionally with Production, Quality and Engineering to resolve welding

Qualifications

• Associate degree in welding or related discipline.
• Experience TIG welding and training welders.
• Knowledge of welding procedures and quality requirements.
• Ability to plan weld repairs on complex castings.

Responsibilities

• Train new TIG welders to meet procedures and quality standards.
• Monitor weld quality and production welder performance.
• Manage welder certification and recertification programs.
• Plan and execute weld repairs on potentially scrap castings.
• Develop welding techniques and equipment improvements for production.
• Provide TIG welding support for superalloy castings.
• Maintain welding materials and inventory control.
