Job summary
Shultz Steel is seeking a Combustion & Thermal Systems Engineer to lead engineering, reliability, optimization, and compliance of heat treat and hot work furnace systems. You will serve as SME for combustion, pyrometry, controls, instrumentation, and thermal processing equipment to improve furnace performance and product quality.
Responsibilities include driving AMS2750 compliance, supporting Nadcap requirements, coordinating capital projects, and collaborating with Quality, Operations, and
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 5–7 years of experience with industrial thermal processing equipment.
- PE license desired and Six Sigma certification desired.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering leadership for combustion, thermal processing, and furnace control systems.
- Design, analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize industrial combustion systems and thermal profiles.
- Ensure AMS2750 compliance and calibration programs; support Nadcap requirements.
- Lead capital projects from concept through commissioning and validation.
- Collaborate with Quality, Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to reduce downtime and improve KPI metrics.
