Job summary

RTX's Mechanical Analysis and Test (MA&T) department in Marlborough, MA, seeks a Senior Thermal Analyst for onsite execution. You will perform detailed thermal analyses across the product lifecycle, from design trades to qualification testing and production support.

The role requires a STEM degree with 5+ years of experience in thermal analysis, proficiency with major tools, and the ability to present results to customers.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in thermal analysis with FloTHERM, PATRAN, Thermal Desktop/SINDA or ANSYS or equivalent.
• Ability to solve classical and FEM-based thermal problems and work independently.
• Must be able to obtain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Perform hand calculations to scope higher detail analysis models.
• Conduct detailed thermal analyses for program challenges.
• Generate test plans to validate analyses and ensure hardware compliance.
• Analyze test data to validate and correlate models.
• Review work with peers for technical accuracy and present results to customers.
• Lead analysis/test teams or guide technical processes within MA&T.
