Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Thermal Analyst II to perform detailed thermal analyses across product lifecycles, from design trade studies through qualification testing and production support.

The role requires a STEM degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience, with hands-on experience in FloTHERM, PATRAN, Thermal Desktop/SINDA or ANSYS. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD security clearance are required. Onsite collaboration with the MA&T team is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in thermal analysis with FloTHERM, PATRAN, Thermal Desktop/SINDA or ANSYS.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. government issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment and independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform Hand Calculations to determine scope of higher detail analysis models.
• Perform detailed thermal analyses to solve various program thermal challenges.
• Generate test plans required to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance to customer requirements.
• Analyze test data to validate and correlate models.
• Work with experienced analysts on problems of moderate complexity to provide the answers needed under program cost and schedule constraints.
• Review your work with peers to ensure technical accuracy.
• Present results to internal, external, and government customers.
• Generate detailed documentation of work and archive for reference.
