Shield AI is seeking a Test Technician to support fabrication, instrumentation, and testing of X-Bat. This hands-on role focuses on building test articles, mounting sensors, and validating final assemblies in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

You will work with AME-grade materials, read engineering docs, and contribute to prototype development and flight-ready hardware. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in fabrication or aerospace instrumentation, experience with strain gauges, and proficiency

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in fabrication or aerospace-grade instrumentation.
• Strong background in strain gauge installation and sensor wiring.
• Hands-on experience in machine shop operations (manual/CNC).
• Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics.
• MIL-STD testing experience (vibration, shock, thermal).

Responsibilities

• Construct and assemble large-scale structures per drawings and CAD models.
• Support design, prototyping, and fabrication of new products and R&D initiatives.
• Maintain records of test equipment configurations and device designations.
• Install strain gauges, thermocouples and sensors according to precise schematics.
• Route cabling, integrate data acquisition systems, and verify sensor calibration.
• Conduct mechanical testing with static and dynamic loads per procedures.
• Document test outcomes and report anomalies in a timely manner.
• Ensure a clean, safe workspace across shop, lab, and composite areas.
• Contribute to improvements in instrumentation standards and fabrication workflows.
• Source and manage inventory for parts and equipment.
