Sierra Lobo, Inc. is seeking a Research Facility Electrician to perform journeyman electrical trades supporting the NASA Glenn TFOME project in Sandusky, Ohio.

The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in a research facility environment. Ideal candidates will have a 4-year apprenticeship with Journeyman certification or 8 years journeyman experience, plus an associate degree or trade school credential in electrical technology.

Qualifications

• Completion of a 4-year state approved apprenticeship with Journeyman Electrician certificate or 8 years minimum journeyman experience with 2 years of related technical instruction.
• Associate degree or equivalent in electrical technology or related field.
• Familiarity with electrical codes (NEC), NFPA 70E, PPE, OSHA standards.
• Ability to read electrical blueprints and layouts; proficient with basic computers.

Responsibilities

• Inspect electrical power systems for safe operation and code compliance.
• Install and repair wiring, fixtures, power equipment, and components per schematics and blueprints.
• Install and repair control and distribution apparatus (motors, relays, switches, panels).
• Connect power supply wiring, cables, and conduits as per diagrams.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical circuits and equipment using testing instruments.
• Test circuit continuity to ensure safety and compatibility of components.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit.
• Operate facility overhead cranes and lifting equipment as needed.
